SAFETY REMINDER

Health and Safety Representatives

 

 

 

 

The large amounts of  infrastucture works currently being undertaken at schools and workplaces is increasing health and safety concerns. The building and renovation planned, will be ongoing for an indeterminate amount of time.

 

 Once again we remind you to refer the NTWorkSafe website  in organising your Workplace Health and Safety Representative(HSR).

 Download a copy of the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations 

 

The AEU-NT can advise you BUT it is the HSR on site who has the authority to address your safety issues.

 

 Refer to NTWorkSafe Bulletins:

·         18.01.01 Consultation. Duty to consult "an employer must consult with workers.."

·         18.01.02 Worker Representation. "..the creation of a right for workers to be represented and consulted on health and safety.."

·         18.01.03 Work Groups. "..enables the workers to elect one of them to be the Health and Safety Representative(HSR).."

·         18.01.04 Health and Safety Reresentatives (HSR) Role, Function and Powers "..is to represent the workers who elect them.."

·         18.01.05 Health and Safety Representative (HSR) elections. Once elected, a HSR has a right to access approved training for HSRs and have a range of functions and powers under the Act.  Recent Bulletins
